Still one of my goals . . .

So I haven't been keeping up with my goal of posting every day or week or even month, but I could pass up an opportunity to post something today (thanks to all four of you for staying with me).
This just in at the Big Red Robot: Mix Master D-Todd is always putting together some killerly wicked mixtapes on his bloggity-blog and is offerin' a bonus mix to those who blog about his awesomeness (he's kind of a narcissist). But I love his narcissism and I will blog about him all day everyday (which you know is a lie because I have only blogged, like four times). Anyway- here is the link to this month's mix about sounds that are warm and the master list of all his mixtapes ever created, ever. His mixtapes are way good. The last one I downloaded has a play count of, like, 27 in my iTunes. Oh, and you can check his blog every month for new mixtaperiness. And besides his mixtapes, he can sometimes string together a few words that make you laugh, cry, think, or vomit. Enjoy.

Goings on

I realize that since my last post I haven't been keeping my goals so well because I have missed a few days posting since then. But don't worry, I will make up for it by filling you in on what has happened on:

Thursday February 12, 2009

We had a Spirit bowl assembly in the gym which is a competition between sophomores, juniors, seniors, and faculty. I chugged root beer as part of a relay race (that we were cheated out of). Many of the other faculty members asked me where I learned to chug like that. I told them it was not college (BYU-Idaho).  But the most interesting part was during the last ten ten minutes in the upper section of the bleachers all of the sudden this guy and girl started fighting. At first it was just yelling and threats, but it escalated and the girl started swinging. Unfortunately, the guy swung back. In the end she won and even took out a few bystanders that were trying to break up the fight. Poor fool lost to a girl. I don't know about you but I would move. Far away. Like maybe to Turkey.  Oh, and the best part was watching the principals and school resource officer trying to get up to the upper section. At first they just kind of stood there trying to decide the fastest way to get up there. If I didn't have the knee of a fifty year old I would have just gone straight up the bleachers and hopped the rail that divides the upper and lower sections, but the runner choose to go out of the gym and around to the stairs. I think there could have been a few less bloody noses.

2009 Resolutions

I am back. Not that any of you missed me (both of you). I have decided that am not accomplishing anything that I want to and I realize that something needs to change. I need goals. Yes. That's right. A month and a half into the new year and I'm just getting around to making resolutions. The month of January was replete with injuries and doctors' offices and I didn't get the efficient start I had been hoping for. Here are the goals I came up with:

- Read more. 20,009 pages to be exact (which isn't that much when spread out over the course of the year). More books & less T.V.
- Get on the blog scene way more. I'm going to try to post everyday (or almost everyday). I want to try and share what I experience at High School.
- Plan every month. Try to be more efficient in work life, home life, Church life.
- Art daily. Do something art everyday (not work related).
- Temple more. A dozen times a year isn't too much to ask.

Hopefully this will help me get back on track. I will conquer! Thanks for reading, it motivates me . . .

"Poked and Prodded"

Monday: Sliced my thumb on a paper cutter . . . four stitches.
Tuesday: Had a cavity filled. The first shot didn't numb the tooth so he tried again . . . twice.
Wednesday: Finally got in to get an ingrown toenail removed. When the doctor pulled it out he said, "Oh!  Well no wonder you were hurting."
Needless to say, getting back to work after a two week vacation took some poking and prodding.
But on the bright side (after more poking and prodding) I'm now part of a brigade. I never thought I would be in a brigade at this point in my life. I feel accomplished. You can check out what it's all about here with the captain of the brigade. I guess I'm going to have to brush up on my mixing skills.  Back in the day I tried my hand at mixing but unfortunately my mixes "Jelly of the Month Club" and "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Narf" never got the success I thought they deserved.  The only mix that I listened to more than once was the Cake mix "Prolonging the Fashion Motorcade" (a slew of Cake songs with Simpsons sound bits mixed in).  I am kind of nervous to step back into the World of Mix, but it should be fun. Thanks Big Red for the opportunity.
